Top Banana was founded in 1996 by Joe Palumbo and is located in the Hunts Point Terminal Market in the Bronx. We are wholesale produce vendors who specialize in bananas. Top Banana also is the only firm that ripens bananas directly inside the market. We also carry a full line of tropicals along with an assortment fruits and vegetables. Top Banana has gained a reputation within the Hunts Point Terminal Market from its shippers and clients for providing quality service.

Taking what I learned from him and many other gracious and knowledgeable people in my life, I put my best foot forward to start a company that prided it’s self on integrity and reputation.
Since that first day I walked into Hunts Point Terminal Market as the owner of Top Banana a lot has changed. While our name would suggest that bananas are only our product, we are much more than that. Along with our banana expertise we carry colorful, fresh tropical produce. We also sell a large variety of your day-to-day fruit and vegetable needs.
